Yes, the Internet is great. The sheer amount of content is mind-boggling, and it's growingexponentially. And user-generated content has been driving it all. And so on and so forth.
But come on! Have you been to any forum or seen user comments on any site? Are you as annoyed as I am with the fact that the English language seems to be degenerating into a pile of poo? And where did these people learn to spell??
I'm not referring to slang. I think that slang is part of the evolution of a language, and a language like English must evolve if it is to be considered a "living" language. I'm referring to the wrong usage that reveals the speaker/writer does not have a grasp of the basics of the language.
Why am I so annoyed? I don't know. But I find myself getting annoyed very often, to the point that it detracts from the content I'm trying to read.
So I'm going to try and post here every time I feel annoyed, and hopefully you'll be as annoyed as I am after reading it.
